I was born and raised in Kentucky. But I am not a small town country girl. Raised by an Italian/Japanese family, I am a combination of country and city.
With two older brothers (+ their friends), I was a tomboy and didn't consider myself a pretty girl. My nickname has always been 'little one' to the guys.
The theater stage and my academics made up my comfort zone growing up. As a bigger girl, I could be another person in costume and use my grades to divert people from my physical appearance.
It wasn't until my college years that physical fitness and health became a priority. Now I was the smart girl, the running girl, the girl from the rec. Even campus police knew who I was (because of my running of course ;) )
Just like many other people, I have hit my highs and my lows in my training and diet. I try to think of it as a roller-coaster. Nobody wants to ride a merry-go-round forever.. it's the hills and sharp turns that keep it interesting. But with support from family and friends, the ride has been well worth it!
